Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Police state they were notified late on Wednesday, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then located numerous other smeared automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report initial examinations show the fluid was probably human blood.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; authorities are not yet aware of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
A high-ranking official stated the attack left him without words and required to be resolved quickly.
"This event hits the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
